LEO Ref — Florida

Support

Questions, problems, and corrections all go to the same place: theleoref@gmail.com.

Found an error in the content? Please report it. Include the case or statute name and what you believe is wrong. Corrections are published as signed content updates and reach every device without waiting for an App Store release, so a confirmed error can be fixed within a day or two rather than a month.

Common questions

Does the app work without a signal?

Yes. All of the legal content is stored on the device and every reference, tool and search works with no connection at all. The app reaches the network only to confirm your subscription with Apple and to check for content corrections, and it keeps working normally when it cannot do either.

My subscription isn't being recognised

Open the app and tap Restore on the subscription screen while you have a signal. Subscriptions are tied to your Apple ID, so they follow you to a new phone automatically once restored. If the app cannot reach the App Store it keeps full access for a grace period rather than locking you out, so a dead zone is not the cause.

How current is the content?

Every entry carries its citation so it can be checked against the primary source, and the app shows the date the content was last reviewed under Content & Updates. Entries known to have been superseded, limited or called into question carry a warning on the entry itself.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is a reference and training aid. It is not a substitute for the primary sources it cites, for your agency's policy, or for advice from your agency's legal advisor or the State Attorney's Office. Verify anything before relying on it in a sworn affidavit, a warrant application, a charging decision, or testimony.

Where does the app apply?

The United States Supreme Court decisions summarised in the app are binding nationwide. Everything else is written for Florida — Florida statutes have no force in another state, Florida court decisions bind no other state's courts, and Eleventh Circuit decisions bind Florida, Georgia and Alabama only. The procedures, time limits and charging guidance throughout are Florida practice.

For agencies

A separate agency edition is available to departments, licensed per agency. It carries the department's own local code alongside the statewide material and supports distributing ops plans and maps to officers in the field. Enquiries to theleoref@gmail.com.
